Introduction

The Supervisors’ Training Centre, New Bongaigaon (STC/NBQ) was established in the year 1966 functioning for training to the serving Supervisors, Artisan and Group ‘D’ staff of Mechanical & Electrical Department of N. F. Railway. It is also imparting training to Supervisory Apprentice (RRB) & Intermediate Apprentice and Trainee JE from Artisan both for Mechanical & Electrical Department.

• Location

  STC/NBQ is situated near C & W workshop / New Bongaigaon. It is at a distance of about 2 KM from the Railway station, New Bongaigaon and well connected through road.

• Training Activities

  The training activities at STC/NBQ can broadly be grouped together in the following categories:-

  * Induction Courses for Apprentice SSE, JE & Technician Gr.-III recruited through RRB and Act Apprentice.
  * Promotional Courses for Intermediate Apprentice JE, Artisan to Supervisor & Unskilled to Skilled.
  * Refresher Courses to serving Supervisors and Artisans.
  * Special Courses to serving Supervisors and Artisans as per requirement and Special Courses on Computer, LHB Coach, Mechatronics, Welding, Accident Investigation, Disaster Management and DEMU Coach.

• Facilities

  * Modern laboratories equipped with Computer based sophisticated machines & models in the area of Mechatronics, Air-Brake, Refrigeration & Air Conditioning and Computer Lab.
  * Internet facility is also available.
  * LCD Projector, Interactive Board, Document Camera, Scanner, Video Camera etc.
  * Well-stocked library of books on Technical, Scientific and Management subjects.
  * New digitization facility, well equipped Auditorium, Sports activities and Yoga.

• Accomodation

  There are two Hostels with 56 & 80 bedded capacity each. One Hostel is for the Apprentice Engineers & Supervisors and the other for Artisan & Gr.-D Staff, as well as Hostel facility is available for ladies (16 bedded) exclusively developed in App. Engg. Hostel. Messing facility is available in both the Hostels.
